The company may cut 21 jobs from United States operations and additional positions in Europe, and 99 positions are being reviewed for additional cuts in Great Britain due to “unrelated” reorganization efforts, according to the report. The cuts come after a softening in the worldwide orthopedics market.
Biomet only reported a 2 percent increase in the fourth quarter of the 2011 fiscal year, which represented a 3 percent decrease in U.S. sales and 7 percent increase in European sales.
