Baxter International Acquires Synovis for $325M

Baxter International recently acquired Synovis, a provider of biological and mechanical products for soft tissue repair, for $325 million, according to a Baxter news release.

The acquisition will expand Baxter’s regenerative medicine and biosurgery franchise. Orthopedics and wound management is the newest business for Synovis, which includes applications for rotator cuff repair and other tendon injuries. In 2010, annual sales for Synovis were approximately $70 million.
