Baxano Surgical Granted Patent for Visual Approach of Lateral Access Fusion System

Baxano Surgical has received a U.S. patent for the direct visual approach of the VEO Lateral Access and Interbody Fusion System.

The patent covers the technique designed to help minimize surgical trauma to the psoas muscle and the nerve plexus for fewer post-operative complications.

The VEO Lateral System is also compatible with neuromonitoring yet provides direct visualization through a two-stage retraction process with shallow docking.
