ArthroCare to Settle Private Securities Class Action Suit

Sports medicine device company ArthroCare recently reached an agreement in principle to settle pending private securities class action suits against the company and two former officers, according to an ArthroCare news release.

The suits were consolidated and brought to the U.S. District Court in Western Texas. The settlement would settle all claims arising from the purchase or sale of ArthroCare securities between Dec. 11, 2007 and Feb. 18, 2009.

If the $74 million settlement is approved, the plaintiffs’ counsel will apply for an award of attorney’s fees and reimbursement of expenses from the settlement fund.
