Amendia, Promimic enter into strategic venture: 4 things to know

Amendia has entered into a strategic venture with Promimic.

Here are four things to know:

 

1. Promimic is a supplier of surface treatments for orthopedic implants. It is based in Gothenburg, Sweden.

 

2. The venture allows Amendia to develop Promimic’s HAnano Surface technology for use with Amendia’s spinal implants.

 

3. Promimic’s HAnano Surface is based on bio-mimicking synthetic bone minerals.

 

4. The HAnano Surface technology has not been approved by the FDA. However, once  approved, Amendia hopes that HAnano Surface will provide a complementary addition to its implant line.
