SeaSpine launches interbody device: 5 key notes

Spinal Tech

SeaSpine launched the Cambria NanoMetalene interbody device.

Here are five key notes on the technology:

1. Cambria NanoMetalene is indicated as an adjunct to fusion in degenerative disc disease patients. It accompanies the SeaSpine proprietary technology for spinal disorders.

2. The device is made of PEEK-OPTIMA and includes a thin layer of pure titanium over the implant. The device is used in the proprietary high energy, low-temperature surface process and encompasses the entire implant, including the center graft aperture.

3. The implant is designed for radiolucency for postoperative imaging to view the operative area and determine fusion extent.

4. The company has FDA 510(k) clearance for the Nano-Metalene-coated PEEK interbody device in it's current portfolio.

5. SeaSpine will launch additional products with this technology throughout 2016.
