Akron Biomaterials Commercialization Hub Receives $250,000 Grant for New Technology Development

The Ohio Department of Development granted the Akron Biomaterials Commercialization Hub $250,000 to create new technologies and prototypes in biomaterials for orthopedics and wound healing, according to a Crain’s Cleveland Business report.

Additionally, the Austen BioInnovation Institute will move into a 40,000 square foot space next summer as part of the Hub’s development. The Institute will be a healthcare training facility and will feature a center for simulation and integrated health education. The Institute plans on moving its biomedical incubator and medical device development center to the new location as well.
