Accellent Suffers $62.1M New Loss in Q1

Wilmington, Mass.-based Accellent suffered a net loss of $62.1 million in the first quarter of 2013, compared to $7 million in 2012, due largely to a $51 million pre-tax goodwill impairment charge from changing the composition of segments and reporting units.

Accellent posts net los of $62.1 million in Q1The company’s gross profit this past quarter was $25.9 million, down 12.2 percent from the same period last year. Net sales were also down 3 percent, from $124.5 million in 2012 to $120.8 million in 2013.
