The 9.5mm diameter version of the implant was cleared by the FDA in January and was awarded the FDA’s breakthrough device designation and a New Technology Add-on Payment by CMS, according to a news release.

The smaller implant for sacroiliac joint fusion and spinopelvic fixation is designed for patients with smaller anatomy and may allow for easier placement of stacked implants. The FDA’s clearance for the device includes use in the S1 body of the sacrum and pediatric deformity.
