Here are five key notes:

1. The 14-bed facility has performed more than 500 cases with the Navio system. Cornerstone Regional was the first hospital in South Texas to offer the technology.

2. Cornerstone has hosted the most robotic-assisted partial knee replacements with the Navio system in the world.

3. In the procedure, surgeons use the computer-controlled technology to achieve precise knee implant positioning.

4. Raul Marquez, MD, was the first surgeon at the hospital to use the Navio system.

5. The Navio system combines the image-free navigation with advanced robotic assisted instrumentation. The technology can reduce the patients time, cost and radiation exposure when compared with preoperative CT scans for other robotic systems.
