5 spine, orthopedic device acquisitions in Q3 totaling $2B+

Two landmark deals from Bioventus and three more acquisitions announced or closed in the third quarter:

1. Bioventus entered an agreement to acquire Misonix for $518 million in a cash-and-stock transaction in July. In August, the company said they were lining up a reported $500 million purchase of Israeli medtech company Cartiheal.

2. Titan Medical Manufacturing, a developer of orthopedic implants, devices and instruments, was acquired by Arch Medical Solutions.

3. Medtronic has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Intersect ENT for $1.1 billion.

4. Stryker said Sept. 7 that it acquired Menlo Park, Calif.-based medical device company Gauss Surgical.
