The researchers examined revision surgeries and linked them to index surgeries. They calculated the likelihood of revision surgery with the Kaplan-Meier life table approach. The researchers found:
1. Four-year survivorship without revision was 96.46 percent for minimally invasive SI joint fusion using the iFuse Implant System from SI-BONE.
2. The revision rate was similar for patients for both sexes.
3. The revision rate was lower for patients who were younger than 65 years old.
4. Twenty-four percent of the revisions occurred within 30 days of surgery; 63.5 percent of the revisions occurred within the first year.
5. The survivorship improved annually since 2009 when the device was introduced.
