Mr. Fong served as 3M’s chief legal and policy officer and secretary. He previously served as general counsel for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and as chief legal officer and secretary for Dublin, Ohio-based Cardinal Health.

Rick Kuntz, MD, Medtronic’s chief medical officer and chief scientific officer, will retire in April, the company said. He has been with Medtronic since October 2005.

Mr. Lerman and Dr. Kuntz are both retiring in line with Medtronic’s mandatory executive officer retirement age of 65, the company said.
