East Providence, R.I.-based University Orthopedics added the Velys robot for total knee replacement, according to a Jan. 6 news release shared with Becker’s.
Velys, from Johnson & Johnson, supports knee procedures with patient-specific planning and surgical execution. It works alongside the Attune knee system.
“By supporting a more natural balance and movement for joint replacement done in an ambulatory surgical center, this technology is a powerful tool that represents the next generation of personalized orthopedic care,” Valentin Antoci, MD, PhD, director of outpatient reconstruction at UOI, said in the release.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
