The hospital is one of two robotic Centers of Excellence in Greater Houston and one of six in Texas, according to the report. Currently, 30 percent of HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball’s operating room capacity is dedicated to robotic surgery.
“This accreditation further confirms to our community and medical staff that we are a leader in minimally invasive robotically assisted surgery and goes on to demonstrate our dedication to the highest standards for patient care, quality and safety,” CEO Robert Marmerstein said.
The hospital performs about 1,000 robotic procedures a year in orthopedics, urology, gynecology and bariatrics, as well as abdominal and colorectal procedures.
