The procedure was done May 31 at the Center for Advanced Ambulatory Surgery in Malta, N.Y. Fewer than 100 smart knee procedures have been completed in the U.S., the practice said a June 6 news release.
Dr. Harbin is the first surgeon to perform a Persona IQ case using Zimmer Biomet’s Rosa robotic system.
Persona IQ measures metrics including range of motion, stride length, walking speed and step count. The data is used to help with follow-up care.
The first Persona IQ case was completed in October at New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery.
