Three things to know:

1. ROSA Brain is a surgical navigation system designed by Zimmer Biomet that allows for precise spatial positioning of surgical instruments.

2. In an epilepsy procedure, ROSA Brain enables surgeons to make tiny holes in the skull to insert electrodes rather than open the skull in a craniotomy.

3. Ronald Benitez, MD, chief of endovascular neurosurgery for OMC and AHS and neurosurgeon with Morristown, N.J.-based Atlantic NeuroSurgical Specialists, performed the hospital’s debut surgery with ROSA Brain.
