Hillsdale (Mich.) Hospital added the Velys spine navigation platform.

The navigation platform supports surgeons in a range of back and neck procedures, according to a July 22 news release.

“I have done more than 500 spinal navigation cases since starting to use this technology,” neurosurgeon Amritraj Loganathan, MD, said in the release. “It allows the surgeon to have a three-dimensional view of the spine while placing instrumentation such as screws. Traditional fluoroscopy or x-rays during surgery only allow two dimensional views by contrast.”

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
