Mayo Clinic surgeon debuts Rosa Shoulder robot

John Sperling, MD, of Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic completed the first surgery with Zimmer Biomet’s Rosa Shoulder robot.

The robot, which is used for shoulder replacements, has ZBEdge Dynamic Intelligence technology and is designed to assist with anatomic and reverse techniques, according to an April 25 news release. It also integrates with the Signature ONE 2.0 surgical planning surgery.

Rosa Shoulder earned FDA approval in February.
