Kentucky health system adapts robot for spine surgery

Louisville, Ky.-based Norton Healthcare adapted the Mazor X robotic surgical system for spinal surgery, reports Spectrum News 1.

Three things to know:

1. The Mazor X system helps reduce pain and decreases postoperative recovery time.

2. The device’s imaging technology and GPS system helps surgeons plan procedures, place screws more accurately and improve spine surgery efficiency.
