This is the first robot within the Hoag network dedicated to spinal surgery, according to a July 15 news release shared with Becker’s.
HOI Beverly Hills specializes in general musculoskeletal care, minimally invasive spine surgery and pain management.
The Globus robot allows surgeons to take medical images the day of the surgery to determine the size and placement of screws and create a surgical plan based on a patient’s anatomy, allowing for better outcomes and minimally invasive procedures, the release said.
The Hoag Orthopedic Institute network has nine orthopedic surgical robots in use.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
