Mako SmartRobotics fuses 3D preoperative planning, haptic technology and data analytics to improve outcomes for total hip replacements and partial and total knee replacements.
The system is designed to prevent soft tissue damage and for greater bone preservation, Michael Gruber, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at the practice, told the news outlet.
Clinical trials have demonstrated that robotic-assisted partial knee replacement results in greater accuracy for implant placement compared to manual procedures.
