eCential Robotics’ spine robot gets FDA clearance

France-based eCential Robotics received FDA 510(k) clearance for its 3D imaging, navigation and robotic guidance spine system.

The clearance secures the company’s plans to grow in the U.S. market, and the robot has been used in more than 2,000 cases in Europe, according to a Sept. 1 news release from eCential. 

ECential’s robot is a fully unified intraoperative imaging, navigation and robotics platform. It is an open system that can be used with any spinal implant, the release said.
