Dr. Frederick Buechel to direct robotic-assisted knee surgery at New York hospital

Frederick Buechel Jr., MD, was appointed director of robotic-assisted knee surgery at New York City-based Lenox Hill Hospital.

He will guide the program’s growth in his role, according to a July 28 news release. Dr. Buechel is known for his expertise with Stryker’s Mako robot, and he has been a pioneer with robotic partial knee replacements. He founded New York City-based The Robotic Joint Center.

Dr. Beuchel will continue his clinical work at his practice while taking on the new role.
