Dr. Weber uses Mako’s robot for both hip and knee replacements at the facility, and hopes that the technology will grow for shoulder, spine and ankle use in the coming years.

When Dr. Weber’s office first received a Mako robot, he was performing around 100 robotic-assisted joint replacements a year. That number has now grown to over 300.

Wayne HealthCare, now partnered with Orthopedic Associates of Southwest Ohio, was the first hospital in the region to obtain a Stryker Mako robotic arm.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
