Dr. Carlos Alvarado launches robotic joint replacement program at New York health system

Montefiore Health System kicked off its robotic joint replacement program this month, Norwood News reports.

Carlos Alvarado, MD, who recently joined New York City-based system’s department of orthopedics, is leading the program, which features Zimmer Biomet’s Rosa robotic surgical assistant.

Dr. Alvaro specializes in total joint replacement, minimally invasive approaches for hip arthroplasty, orthopedic trauma and complex fractures.

He completed a residency at NYU Langone’s Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City and a fellowship in total joint replacement and adult reconstruction at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston.
