Dr. Blackwood, of BoulderCentre for Orthopedics & Spine, completed Colorado’s first Mako surgery in January 2020, according to an Oct. 26 news release shared with Becker’s. The 3,000th case was performed Sept. 13.
The milestone makes Dr. Blackwood the most experienced surgeon in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region using Mako. He’s also among the top 0.5 percent nationwide for Mako joint replacement surgeons, according to the release.
