Dr. Andrew Zhang debuts Mazor X spine robot at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport

Andrew Zhang, MD, performed LSU Health Shreveport’s (La.) first spine surgery with the Mazor X robot, according to a Dec. 8 announcement in the Bossier Press-Tribune.

The Mazor X guidance system assists with pedicle screw placement during surgery and uses 3D cameras to map the surgical area. LSU Health Shreveport is one of two facilities in Northwest Louisiana to use Mazor X robotics.

Dr. Zhang is chief of adult and pediatric orthopedic spine surgery at Ochsner LSU Health.
