Allina Health adds 3rd orthopedic robot at Minnesota hospital

Minneapolis-based Allina Health has added its third orthopedic robot at Mercy Hospital in Fridley, Minn., ABC Newspapers reported Jan. 10.

The health system added Smith+Nephew’s CORI Surgical System to Mercy Hospital’s Unity Campus Joint Replacement Center.

Kevin Lindgren, MD, performed the hospital’s first joint replacement using the robot Nov. 4 and has since used it to perform dozens more procedures.

The device joins two Stryker Mako orthopedic robots used at Allina Health.
