So far in 2025, U.S. installments of Orthofix’s 7D Flash navigation system increased 66% year over year, CEO Massimo Calafiore said during an Aug. 5 earnings call.

“7D earnouts in the first half of this year were ahead of the first half of last year, and our focus on driving 70 placements through our Voyager earnout program is delivering sales results with earnout customers exceeding their contracted spinal hardware and biologic purchase commitment by over 50% on average,” Mr. Calafiore said, as transcribed by investing.com.

Orthofix also earned FDA 510(k) clearance for its new Virata spinal fixation system, and a limited launch was initiated in the U.S., Mr. Calafiore said. Virata is designed to integrate with 7D Flash, and more than 80% of surgeons participating in the limited launch represent new or incremental business, he said.

“These results validate our strategic focus on surgeon-driven innovation powered by cutting edge 7D Flash technology and reinforces our ability to drive successful market penetration beyond the current customer base,” Mr. Calafiore said. “We expect this positive trajectory to continue throughout the limited launch period and look forward to Virata being a meaningful contributor to our growth next year.”
