Here are five key headlines in spine and orthopedic robotics from the third quarter of 2025:

1. Zimmer Biomet has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Monogram Technologies, an orthopedic robotics company.

2. LEM Surgical, a robotics company for spine and hard tissue surgery, added leaders from Globus Medical and Medtronic to its team. Dave Demski, who was CEO at Globus Medical, joined LEM Surgical’s board of directors, and David Simon, PhD, who was vice president of research and development at Medtronic, joined its scientific advisory board.

3. Neurosurgeon Michael Fromke, MD, led Miami-based HCA Florida Kendall Hospital’s first robot-assisted transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion.

4. So far in 2025, U.S. installments of Orthofix’s 7D Flash navigation system increased 66% year over year, CEO Massimo Calafiore said during an Aug. 5 earnings call.

5. Implanet and Tinavi Medical have signed an exclusive distribution agreement for Tinavi’s TiRobot spine surgery system.
