4 surgeons, health systems reaching spine and orthopedic robotic surgery milestones

Here are four surgeons and health systems who recently reached robotic surgery milestones that Becker’s has reported on since March 22:

1. Spine surgeon Michael Gallizzi, MD, completed his 200th robotic case.

2. Deepak Reddy, MD, of South Bend (Ind.) Orthopedics, completed his 300th robotic-assisted spine surgery.

3. Surgeons with Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre (Pa.) reached the hospital’s 1,500th case with the Mako robot.

4. Glenwood Springs, Colo.-based ValleyOrtho, part of Valley View health system, completed its 1,000th procedure using Stryker’s Mako robotic arm for joint replacement surgeries.
