3 surgeons reaching robotics milestones in 45 days

Here are three orthopedic surgeons who have completed milestone cases with robotic surgery systems that Becker’s has reported on since Dec. 11:

1. Chelsey Durgin, MD, of Tallahassee (Fla.) Orthopedic Clinic completed his 1,000th successful case with the Mako Surgical Robotic System.

2. Jon Edgington, MD, performed the first two hinged knee replacements in the region using Stryker’s Mako robot at Orthopedic Specialists of Northwest Indiana in Munster.

3. Kevin Borchard, MD, of Colorado Advanced Orthopedics, Sports Medicine and Spine in Meeker, completed his 1,000th procedure utilizing the Mako SmartRobotics surgery system.
