Zimmer Biomet’s Rosa knee robot was with OptimiZe earned FDA 510(k) clearance, according to a Nov. 14 news release.
OptiMize is an enhanced version of the Rosa knee system that is designed fora more customized experience for surgeons. It includes intelligent surgical planning and new positioning, tracking and alignment features for precision and variability.
Rosa knee with OptimiZe is designed for use with the Persona knee system.
“ROSA Knee with OptimiZe was designed in partnership with our seasoned team of ROSA surgeons to make robotic-assisted knee replacement surgery more personalized, accurate and efficient for surgeons,” Shaun Braun, senior vice president and chief information and technology officer at Zimmer Biomet, said in the release. “With our proprietary algorithm, OptimiZe Planning™, surgeons can create customized profiles that generate personalized surgical plans, which can reduce planning time by an average of 46%.”
