The top 10 highest-paid players in the MLB this year are set to earn a combined $576 million in the 2025 to 2026 season, according to a March 25 report from Forbes.
Juan Soto, a right fielder for the New York Mets, will be the highest-paid player this season, collecting $126.9 million in 2025 before taxes and agents’ fees.
Forbes ranked the highest-paid players according to 2025 base salaries, signing bonuses and deferred payments.
Here are the care providers for the 10 highest-paid players in the MLB, and what players will earn in the upcoming season:
1. Juan Soto, $126.9 million, plays for the New York Mets, who are cared for by Kathryn McElheny, MD. Dr. McElheny was promoted to head team physician in 2021. She works at New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery as a primary care sports medicine physician. Lawrence Gulotta, MD, chief of the shoulder and elbow division at the Hospital for Special Surgery, is the team’s head orthopedist.
2. Shohei Ohtani, $102 million, plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are cared for by Neal ElAttrache, MD. Dr. ElAttrache is also head team physician for the Los Angeles Rams. He serves as an orthopedic sports medicine specialist at Los Angeles-based Cedars Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute.
3. Blake Snell, $65.5 million, plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
4. Aaron Judge, $48 million, plays for the New York Yankees, who are cared for by Christopher Ahmad, MD. Dr. Ahmad is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist who has his own private practice in New York City.
5. Zack Wheeler, $42.2 million, plays for the Philadelphia Phillies, who are cared for by Michael Ciccotti, MD. Dr. Ciccotti is the director of sports medicine at Rothman Orthopaedics in Philadelphia.
6. Jacob deGrom, $40.3 million, plays for the Texas Rangers, who are cared for by Keith Meister, MD. Dr. Meister is an orthopedic surgeon at TMI Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Surgery in Arlington, Texas.
7. Mike Trout, $39.5 million, plays for the Los Angeles Angels, who are cared for by Steve Yoon, MD. Dr. Yoon serves as a team physician for the team and as director of clinical regenerative medicine at the Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute.
8. Anthony Rendon, $38.1 million, plays for the Los Angeles Angels.
9. Gerrit Cole, $37 million, plays for the New York Yankees.
10. Carlos Correa, $36.5 million, plays for the Minnesota Twins, who are cared for by John Steubs, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at TRIA Orthopedic Center in Bloomington, Minn. Dr. Correa is also an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Minnesota department of orthopaedic surgery.
