Here are four things to know:
1. Dr. Gill received the award for her “outstanding contribution to the orthopedic surgery program” at the medical center.
2. Dr. Gill earned her medical degree at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesday, Md. She also served on board the USS San Jose as a general medical officer in the Persian Gulf.
3. She has also served in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; and Rota, Spain; and in the Middle East.
4. She has completed a hand and microvascular surgery fellowship at University of South Florida in Tampa.
