Here are five things to know about Dr. Wierks:
1. He joined West Michigan Orthopaedics in 2015.
2. He specializes in hip arthroscopy, and performs almost 250 hip arthroscopy procedures each year.
3. He serves as a physician for the US Snowboarding team. In the past, he has also provided coverage for the Baltimore Orioles.
4. His honors include the Maryland Orthopaedic Association Resident Research Award, Loyola Surgical Grand Rounds Research Award and an award from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
5. He earned his medical degree at Loyola University Chicago’s Stritch School of Medicine. He went on to complete his residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore and his fellowship at The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colo.
