As part of the alliance, FOI President Roy W. Sanders, MD, has been named chair of the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine’s department of orthopedics and sports medicine. David Leffers, MD, the department’s previous chair will step down but will remain as a full-time associate professor of orthopedics and sports medicine in the college and team physician for the USF Bulls.

The agreement also allows FOI physicians, who obtain USF voluntary or part-time faculty appointments, to oversee clinical education and training of all USF orthopedic residents and postgraduate fellows in its various hospitals.
