Bethlehem, Pa.-based St. Luke’s University Health Network has been selected to participate in a clinical trial for the Inhance Shoulder System from DePuy Sythes.

The stemless system may preserve more natural bone and reduce bone loss. The trial will evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the system, according to a Dec. 30 news release from St. Luke’s.

Orthopedic surgeon Gregory Carolan, MD, performed the first procedure with the system in the Lehigh Valley at St. Luke’s Orthopedic Hospital in Allentown, Pa.

Johnson & Johnson Medtech launched the system in October.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
