Gritman Medical Center in Moscow, Idaho, has expanded orthopedic surgery services with the addition of Gritman Orthopedic Surgeons, the Daily Fly reported March 15.

Johnson & Johnson subsidiary DePuy Synthes on March 15 was ordered to pay Gary Lynn Rasmussen, MD, $20 million after one of its products was found to infringe on one of the orthopedic surgeon's patents, according to Law360.com.

The Center for Neurosciences, Orthopaedics & Spine in Dakota Dunes, S.D., and Sioux City, S.D.-based Tri-State Specialists have consolidated under the CNOS name, The Sioux City Journal reported March 14.

Orthopedic developments and outpatient expansions are booming across the country as healthcare continues its shift to the ambulatory environment, where an aging elderly population are likely to receive their care in the future.
