Becker's reported about two orthopedic lawsuits so far in March.

Klane White, MD, has been appointed the chair of the department of pediatric orthopedics and the Rose Brown Endowed Chair of Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery at Children's Hospital Colorado in Aurora, according to a March 16 press release sent to Becker's. 

Since May 2022, at least five orthopedic and spine practices have been hit with cyberattacks, impacting over 100,000 patients. 

Robert Marx, MD, performed knee surgery on Christian Dvorak, a forward for the Montreal Canadiens in the National Hockey League, on March 15.

Morristown, N.J.-based Atlantic Health System has acquired Forked River, N.J.-based Thompson Healthcare & Sports Medicine, claiming majority ownership of its 11 locations throughout the state, according to a March 15 report from New Jersey Business Magazine. 

Edgerton (Wis.) Hospital and Health Services has entered a partnership with Orthopedic and Spine Centers of Wisconsin in Madison, according to a March 15 report from the Milton Courier. 

Orthopedic and spine surgeons are feeling a growing disconnect between themselves and payers. As physician demand from payers is increasing, reimbursement rates nationwide are declining. 

Philadelphia-based Rothman Orthopaedic Institute has become the official sports medicine and orthopedic provider for the Orlando (Fla.) Guardians, an XFL football team.
