Longview (Texas) Regional Medical Center has added eight orthopedic surgeons and four mid-level providers to its family of regional clinics effective Feb. 1. 

As physicians are leaving the field of medicine — some via retirement, some due to dissatisfaction and burnout and depression. So what is motivating the ones who are staying to continue to practice?

The Salem, Ore.-based Willamette Surgery Center, which provided joint replacements for patients in the area for over 20 years, will be demolished after closing its doors last fall, according to a Feb. 21 report from the Salem Reporter.
