Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Walter Lowe of University of Texas

Walter Lowe, MD, is the chairman and professor of the department of orthopedic surgery at Houston-based University of Texas Medical School. Dr. Lowe is also the medical director of the Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Sports Medicine Institute. in Houston. He specializes in sports medicine and is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Lowe is the head team physician for the NFL Houston Texans, NCAA University of Houston Cougars, NBA Houston Rockets and the North Shore Mustangs.

 

After earning his medical degree from University of Texas Medical School, he underwent his residency at Tarrant County Affiliated Hospitals in Fort Worth, Texas. He completed his fellowship at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.
