Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Shawn Palmer of the Hip & Knee Center

Shawn W. Palmer, DO, is an orthopedic surgeon at the Hip & Knee Center in Elgin, Ill. and Algonquin, Ill.

Dr. Palmer teaches the anterior approach hip replacement technique to surgeons around the country and serves as a clinical instructor for El Dorado Hills, Calif.-based Consensus Orthopedics. He performs more than 700 hip and knee replacement surgeries each year.

Dr. Palmer is a lifetime member of the University of Chicago Surgical Society.

Dr. Palmer attended the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a residency at Downers Grove, Ill.-based Midwestern University affiliated hospitals. He was fellowship trained at the University of Chicago Bone and Joint Replacement Center.
