Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Roger Ostrander of Andrews Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center

Roger Ostrander, MD, of Andrews Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center at The Andrews Institute in Gulf Breeze, Fla., is an orthopedic surgeon with added qualifications in sports medicine, and was the first physician invited to help develop the Andrews Institute. Dr. Ostrander also co-founded the Andrews Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Center.

Dr. Ostrander was team physician for the United States National Indoor Lacrosse Team during the 2007 world championships and currently works as medical director and team physician for the AA baseball team in Pensacola, Fla., as well as with the University of West Florida.

 

During surgery, Dr. Ostrander uses MIS techniques and his surgical interests include arthroscopic and open treatment of knee, ankle, shoulder and elbow injuries.

 

After receiving his medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine, Dr. Ostrander completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of California, San Diego before completing a sports medicine fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Al.
