Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Joshua Metzl of Steadman Hawkins Clinic-Denver

Joshua Metzl, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with a special focus on foot and ankle injuries, particularly in athletes. He is an associate team physician for the Colorado Rockies and team physician for the Denver Broncos.

Dr. Metzl joined the Steadman Hawkins Clinic-Denver in 2012. He treats forefoot disorders, ankle instability, arthritis, work-related injuries and posterior tibial tendon disorders. He performs minimally invasive Achilles tendon repair and ankle replacement surgery.

 

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Metzl participates in triathlons and he is a five-time Ironman participant. He has run at least 11 marathons.

 

Dr. Metzl earned his medical degree at the University of Missouri and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. His additional training includes a fellowship at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, N.C.
