Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. James Bethea of Medical University of South Carolina Health

James Frank Bethea, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon and clinical assistant professor at Medical University of South Carolina Health in Charleston. He has a professional interest in general orthopedics and musculoskeletal care as well as non-operative foot and ankle treatment.

Dr. Bethea has served as the president of the South Carolina Orthopaedic Association and the Columbia Medical Society. He has previously served as chairman of the orthopedics department at Providence-Palmetto Richland Hospital in Columbia, S.C. He is a member of the Southern Orthopaedic Association and a former member of the Board of Councilors with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

 

Dr. Bethea earned his medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Medicine and competed his residency at Medical University of South Carolina.
