Dr. Hassanzadeh joined the Charlottesville-based UVA Spine Center in 2014. He specializes in complex spinal deformity and minimally invasive surgery.
The author of dozens of research papers, Dr. Hassanzadeh is working with UVA’s orthopedic trauma team to study the safety and efficacy of minimally invasive spine surgery. He is also researching strategies to decrease complications during large reconstructive spine surgeries.
Dr. Hassanzadeh sits on the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery’s publications committee.
Dr. Hassanzadeh graduated from the University of Hamburg in Hamburg, Germany, completed a residency at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, and completed a fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
