He earned his medical degree from Philadelphia-based Thomas Jefferson Medical College. Following medical school, he completed his residency at Temple University Hospital, also in Philadelphia. During his residency, Dr. Kestner served as editor of Temple Orthopaedic Journal.
He completed his foot and ankle fellowship at Duke University Hospital in Durham, N.C.
