Dr. Kocher has served in leadership positions with a number of organizations, including on board of directors of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. His clinical interests include sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the knee, shoulder, hip, elbow and ankle. He has been featured in the New York Times, Scientific American, San Francisco Chronicle, Boston Globe and Wall Street Journal, among other publications. His research has also bee published in peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics.
Dr. Kocher earned his medical degree at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, N.C. He completed the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program in Boston. He has completed a number of fellowships, including a sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery fellowship at Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colo., and another in pediatric orthopedic surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital.
